O Holy, almighty God; gracious Father in heaven,
Thank You for bringing me safely through another night, and granting me another day in this age to serve under the Lordship of Jesus Christ, whom You have given all authority in heaven and earth.
Thank You that You have blessed Your people with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, even to reign with Him towards the consummation of Your coming kingdom.
I confess and repent of my sins, committed in thoughts, speech and acts — my broken resolutions, my untrue service, my wayward steps, my vain musings — all the ways in which I have fallen short of Your glory; and beg You to blot them all out in Your faithfulness and justice, according to the promise of redemption by Your grace through Your gift of faith in the precious blood of Your Son, with Whom You are well pleased.
I most heartily give You praise, honor and glory; and pray again today in submission to Your will in all that I do and leave undone, that You would continue to graciously have mercy upon me, and by Your Spirit’s indwelling presence, govern all my thoughts and aspirations, my heart and mind, my speech and deeds; and give me understanding to discern what is good or evil, that I may this day so live this side of glory, to flee from my sins, cherish the heartfelt hope of eternal life which Jesus, my Savior, has secured for me, and walk in obedience to the faith working through love*, according to Your word.
Let Christ be made to me not only righteousness, but wisdom, sanctification and redemption.
To this end, Father, please help and keep me this day with Your divine love, by the power of the Holy Spirit, and for the sake of Your dear Son, Jesus Christ, in whose name I pray, amen.
* Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery kept secret since the world began but now made manifest, and by the prophetic Scriptures made known to all nations, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, for obedience to the faith– (Romans 16:25-6)
* For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love. (Galatians 5:6)
