The importance of Jesus’ coming in judgment against apostate Israel with the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple by the Roman armies in AD 70 has been understated by modern, popular dispensational theology. The opposite error over-emphasizes the significance of that temporal judgment to the point of upending the gospel age of the church militant, even to the point of denying the future bodily return of Christ for the general physical resurrection and final judgment.
